Placing beds glitch?

When I try to place a bed in the same place that I have previously placed (and removed) a bed, it refuses to place. I've tried it several times in several different ways. There are not any protections in the area that would prevent placing beds, and I can place them in other spots, so I think this is a bug.

When that happens just place two solid blocks where you want to put the bed and then break the blocks. That will allow you to place the bed again.
Not sure why it fixes it exactly, but that happens in my villager breeder. I break the beds to turn it off and then have trouble placing the bed back again sometimes.
