This is a strategy for finding diamonds. Go to 11 then you can find diamonds there.

my technique is to be at lvl 11.
than make lines 2 high, and straight forward.
in between the lines i leave 3 blocks (so i make a line each 4th). as diamond nodes are mostly 2 in width, you cant miss them this way :)
