My computer draws nearly four times the power of an average desktop when at full load. It puts out enough heat that I regularly use it to heat my (rather small) apartment.

An electric eel (which isn't actually an eel) can put out an electric pulse of around six hundred volts at one amp, for a duration of about two milliseconds. It can do this multiple times in quick succession if needed.

The iconic Iowa class battleship was designed in 1938, but design improvements were made as the ships were being built. Six ships were planned, but only four (the USS Iowa, the USS New Jersey, the USS Missouri, and the USS Wisconsin) were built. All four survive today as museum ships.

This is illegal. Don't do it. Drive cars on the roads, not the sidewalk.

(Story behind the picture: I work at a car dealership. I was positioning a car on our corner display area facing the road. I realized that it was a perfect opportunity to take the picture. The car was not actually on the sidewalk.)

It is possible to score four points in one shot in basketball!

If you shoot a three point shot (Behind the "arch" that circles around the basket), and the player who is defending you fouls you, but you still make the shot, you are allowed to shoot one free throw, if you hit the free throw, you will have earned four points in one play. :) (It's easy to tell I love basketball)

Electric cars, having no gas engine, use a DC to DC converter instead of an alternator to charge the 12 volt battery and run things like headlights, windshield wipers, and the radio. The DC to DC converter takes anywhere from 100 to 400 volts from the main battery (Actual voltage depends on the car) and steps it down to the required voltage.

The accepted method for recovering from a bounce on landing in an MD-11 is to lift the nose to a normal nose up landing attitude and add power to soften the second touchdown.

With the way that the drive train of a Toyota Prius is set up, it is impossible for the engine to drive the car in reverse.
