In the nether, quartz ore is about as common as iron in the overworld, it drops 1 nether quartz and is subject to Fortune (Fortune III would cause it to drop 1-4 nether quartz)

4 nether quartz crafts a block of quartz, which can be turned into variations, stairs, and slabs by the same methods used to create the variations of sandstone.

Nether  quartz is also an ingredient in daylight sensors, and possibly redstone comparators, but I cannot recall for sure.

Due to the existence of the Fortune and Silk Touch enchantments, I would say that quartz ore should probably NOT be sold in the donor shop (as with any ore, even coal, my opinion is that the ores should not be sold for any price from an infinite stock shop)
But I see no problem with selling quartz blocks, and possibly nether quartz if the block cannot be crafted back into  4 nether quartz.

Will quartz be added to the donorshop in 1.5?
No, because it's subject to Fortune picks. As with diamond ore and others that benefit from fortune, we won't sell them in the donor shop.

bknysnake has made available a PO Box where we can receive donations from those of you who want to donate but have no access to a credit/debit card. The default payment methods via mail are cash or money order. US Dollars only. (Other currencies are accepted via PayPal).

If you utilize the mail to send in a donation, you should take a few important steps to increase the odds that your donation will arrive intact:
If you send cash, we recommend you put the cash in a birthday-style card. This will prevent people from feeling the cash through the envelope. Any kind of card will suffice. If you want to write a few words to bknysnake, go for it
If you send a money order, we recommend either using a privacy envelope or wrapping the money order in 2 pieces of paper. The goal is to keep people from being able to hold your envelope up to a light to see what's in it. Money orders can be found at the post office, grocery stores, gas stastions, etc. Any kind should be fine. We prefer not to accept personal or business checks. If you are worried about your donation being lost of stolen, use a money order and keep its stub to be able to file a dispute with the money order company if the check never reaches us.
The above tips are things you should always think about when using the US Mail system because of thieving postal workers.
Include your minecraft username on a piece of paper.

Make money orders payable to:
Carlos Rivas

Address the envelope to:
Carlos Rivas
