I'm pretty sure he did this in singleplayer and that there is a command to get a specific person's skull.

Same here. To me it serves as a good decoration and storage. overall, most useful thing from the 1.8 update.

It's my opinion that the most useful thing in the 1.8 update is the slime block :P
