I can't play Minecraft at work, so I play Minecraft at work.

Other Minecraft themed creations / Creative screenshots?
« on: May 23, 2016, 04:27:08 PM »
I'm asking for a little clarification on what's allowed to be posted here.

I'm always interested in seeing what other players are able to build on Famcraft's Survival server, but I'm also interested in what people can do in Creative mode. Are Creative screenshots allowed here (besides the occasional temp Famcraft creative environments)?

I ask because I realize that if these screenshots didn't come from a player's Single Player adventures, they would have to be from some other creative server, and the "other server" is where the waters would get murky. Also, it might not be easy to tell one from the other.

It seems to me that the obvious "no talk of other servers" rule would still cover someone mentioning the location in the forum post itself or by sneaking the location into the screenshot. But then I also get that might be more difficult to police in such posts, so a blanket "no screenshots that don't originate from Famcraft" rule might be simpler.

So I'm not advocating one way or the other; just asking if this has already been asked and answered elsewhere before. Thanks!

Plea to be unbanned / IRC ban
« on: March 15, 2016, 09:43:08 PM »
Trying to log on to #famcraft on IRC tonight, I'm notified that my name has been banned from the channel. May I ask why?

(I'll mention that I'm trying an Android client I'm unfamiliar with--AndroIRC--in case there's some setting I need to change that breaks the rules.)

Thank you for your time!

General Discussion / Famcraft web site layout
« on: March 11, 2016, 05:43:31 PM »
This may have been asked and answered before, but I couldn't easily locate a thread on it. Apologies if this is a repeat.

Has any consideration ever been given to altering the layout of the web site? There's an awful lot of wasted real estate on both sides of the browser. I realize this is a kind of design that's fairly popular, but in an information-heavy site like this one, it seems a shame to squeeze the actual information into artificial boundaries.

I especially notice this on the forums, where posts with attachments are tricky to read, and it's not easy to view some of the beautiful screenshots people post without awkwardly sidescrolling.

This isn't to say that the site isn't well-designed; it's a great-looking site. Just something I've noticed and wondered about.
