Title: Donor Shop
Post by: zRise on October 14, 2013, 06:34:10 PM
Better The Donor Shop!

In my opinion there should be an increased stock range of more "Unique Items" added to the donor shop that allows donors to have a more varied arsenal, some examples may include:

- fireworks
- Colored Hardened Clay
- Daylight sensors
- hoppers
- TNT
- Colored wool
- Golden Carrot
- Glistering Melon
- Golden Apple
- Piston
- Sticky Piston
- Carpet
- Vines
- Staff Heads

And many more feel free to comment on what you want, i just feel the donor shop could be so much more                                                                                      :D

I third, fourth, and fifth the fireworks! At the very least it would be awesome to have the more "expensive" ones (ones taking gold nuggets, glowstone, or diamonds for their effects) as their ball-form so we can color them, and turn them into fireworks ourselves :D

yea and for admins its easy to fill up the donor chests as they can use these commands:

Code: [Select]
/give 401 64 color:color fade:color shape:shape effect:effect(multiple) color:red,blue,green
1 shape:star,ball,large,creeper,burst
effect:trail,twinkle
power:1,2,3

so for example:
Code: [Select]
/give 401 64 color:red,blue,green shape:ball effect:twinkle power:3Will give a stack of this type of fireworks :)

So this way it wont be a pain for them either to make them and be able to sell them (and no plugin is needed)

With chestshops, there's a thing called "Admin Shop" which makes it so that there needn't be a chest, just a sign with what you want people to buy and pay. So they would just have to put it on the sign once, and not fill it up (which would probably get annoying quickly).

although most likely the sig will be to small for all of this:
Code: [Select]
401 64 color:color fade:color shape:shape effect:effect
but most likely this will get some sub ID like 401:1:5:2 or whatever. no idea how this works exactly

If the sign is too small for all that, how are you going to buy it from a chest? XD

Well camel isn't always on, or available. And sometimes its out of stock D: We also didn't want donors just to be able to get the best enchantment easily, we want players to work for their things :o

Donor shop pricing is a bit more intentionally. So that donors will buy from other players first.  Otherwise the money is taken out of the economy.

I think it's a good thing if money is taken out of the economy, we don't want to lose the value of the dollar here on Famcraft as well in real life  :P

The donorshop items are expensive because they have unlimited stock and because we do not want to drive down prices in the economy.

But if they are sold in sets of 8 with the same price.. each wool is worth more then :o Or change it so each wool is valued at the same price as it is now

First, vines, wool(used for carpet), clay, dyes(colored wool/clay/carpet) and slime balls are already offered in the donor shop.

Staff who are willing to share their heads often give theirs out for free, and would be unfair to those players <--, yes still players, to offer their heads for sale in donor shop if they are not currently willing to part with them.

As for the other items, for the most part, is a no. We will not be planning on supplying most of the items listed at the beginning of this post. The Donor shop was planned to offer limited items, as a perk to our donors, not as a full Admin shop for all items. We have added some items over time with updates to bring new excitement  and perks for our donors. Providing too many items from the donor shop, kinda takes away from the fun and challenge of the game. We also strive to allow perks to our donors, without giving them extraordinary advantages over our other players. This is why we are hesitant about adding too much to the shop.

I know several of our players are interested in fireworks. As of now, we do not plan to carry fireworks in the donor shop. This is much due to the many different firework crafting setups. They may be tedious to make, but without supplying all types, would be difficult to put together only specific ones that would make everyone happy.

Considering the current large amount of inventory in the donor shop, we are considering swapping some items for others over time, or on some rotating schedule. So if there are items from the above list we eventually add, it will be at a cost of another currently supplied, for a time. We will keep suggestions in mind for these rotations.

may i recommend rotating out the "rare stone" and replacing it with the different types of quartz blocks such as pillars, chissled, regular, and stairs?

But.. "rare stone" Is basically only available in the donor shop, quartz is available everywhere.

I would die if rare stone became... rare.

Money just materializes into the economy too, comes from doing a job, not like anyone is paying you. Therefor the spending of money on a sign in the donor shop isn't really taking money out of the economy, as the jobs counter that. However I do understand the need to manage server-wide pricing.
