General Discussion / Re: Maximum fall distance

Thanks, but I think it would actually be easier to test this in a single player world. Besides, I sort of lost interest. I appreciate the offer though :)

I'm fairly certain that PixelProne meant a new challenger rises and defeats the top clan, giving rise to a new era full of smaller clans. Because one of those will eventually become top clan themselves, that throws us into an infinite loop. I guess they do win!

Since the game's over, I guess I'll start it with over with dark oak log; if anyone still wants to play. If not then at least I solved that loose end :D

So... I don't know the answer to the last one but it's been a long time so I guess Tas wins that one and we start over :)

When? Where? What?
What's the answer?

Hint: Replace the first with three from itself.

ps. I don't know who came up with this first -- but the idea was given to me by someone who told me a variation earlier today.

Forum Games / Uptrade
« on: September 14, 2020, 06:51:48 PM »
The point of Uptrade is to start with something of little value and trade it for something better over and over until you end up with something very valuable. However, this isn't a traditional forum game! Instead of just typing responses, players actually trade real (in-game) items on the FamCraft server and come here to talk about their progress and experience. I based Uptrade on a real life situation where someone was able to get a house by uptrading a red paperclip in only 14 steps!

How to play:
Find an item or something in-game that seems worthless and ask if somebody will trade you for it. Then take whatever you got, and trade it with somebody else. Keep going until you get reach your goal. That goal could be a specific thing you want, or maybe you just want to see how far you can get in a set number of steps. (you could also play in reverse, start with something valuable and see how long it takes you to end up with something worthless). Make a post when you start the game, and keep us updated on how you are doing (one post per player per game, you can play more than once though, or post other questions/comments).

A few rules*:
1) Follow the FamCraft server and forum rules!
2) No pestering! Players must wait at least an hour (preferably longer) between asking others to trade. (We don't want to be annoying!)
3) Trade the whole item(s), and only that item(s). If you have 7 string, you trade the next person 7 string.
4) It's fine to mention that this is for a game, but don't use that to get better trades. (no conspiracy either)
5) Trades must be for item(s), not famcoins. Chestshops are out of bounds.
6) Item(s) don't have to be items, they could be structures or places (almost anything in-game), you could trade a tree if you wanted! :)
7) try to keep your posts condensed so they are easier to read and not 'spammy.'

*Rules subject to change as needed, check back every once in a while.

Forum Games / Re: Report questionable posts or ask questions here

I had an idea for a game, but I'm not sure if it counts as a 'forum' game. The participants would play the game on the server, but talk about their progress and experience here on the forum, is that allowed? (I would include rules for ensuring it doesn't become spammy)

Bugs and glitches / Extra? Tokens in Games Server
« on: September 04, 2020, 11:52:11 PM »
I was playing on the games server and got to about 680 tokens. I did some fishing at the pond, sold my catch, then started  typing something. I was kicked for spam (I think there might also be a glitch with the /mail and /me commands on games, but it may also be intentional) and when I came back I started fishing again, then I checked tab and saw that I had ~750 tokens. I may have earned those tokens in the time between checking my balance, but the number seems too high. Can staff please look into it, I don't want to keep the tokens if I didn't earn them.

I decided to test this with an enchanted golden apple. I jumped from build height (256) to Y-level 5, and survived with ~ 3.5 hearts left! That's 251 blocks!

It would be amazing if somebody who bought fly could try to see exactly how far a player can fall (onto stone) with:

Full diamond armor (protection IV)
Feather Falling IV
Resistance II &
An enchanted golden apple

ps. You could also try using skulkers for the levitation effect, but that would be a huge hassle.

General Discussion / Maximum fall distance

After an great deal of testing, I have concluded that, with full, protection IV, diamond armor, feather falling IV, and resistance II (from a beacon), a player can fall 169 blocks, onto stone, and survive. 170 is just slightly too far.

Bugs and glitches / Placing beds glitch?
« on: August 17, 2020, 05:10:38 PM »
When I try to place a bed in the same place that I have previously placed (and removed) a bed, it refuses to place. I've tried it several times in several different ways. There are not any protections in the area that would prevent placing beds, and I can place them in other spots, so I think this is a bug.

Forum Games / Re: Would You Rather...?
« on: August 10, 2020, 09:04:00 PM »
I would rather have a cat.

Would you rather be the best builder in Minecraft but only be able to play in Hardcore Mode, or be the worst builder in Minecraft but able to play in any gamemode, and why?

ps. Hardcore = only one life. You could still play on servers but you would be permanently banned if you die.

Bugs and glitches / Problem With /mail Command?
« on: August 07, 2020, 09:59:25 PM »
Last night I was playing on the wastelands server. I wanted to send a message to an offline player so I typed /help mail to learn how to use the /mail command, and was immediately kicked for 'spamming.' Later, I tried to send a message using /mail send and was again kicked for 'spamming.' I was not using erroneous repeating characters and I only used each command once, so I do not know why I was kicked. Is this a bug with the /mail command, or did I do something incorrectly?

Update: The problem seems to only occur on the wastelands server.
