For a long time our family made gift lists and drew names for who we would buy gifts for. This fell apart when things started getting complicated in the late 90s. You can't just put something on your list anymore and expect someone to get the right thing/version/edition/color/etc. So we devolved to getting gift cards for each other and that went on for a decade until last year. Last year we bought random items and did a "Chinese Christmas". Lots of fun and we're going to do it again this year.

The actual solution is that you have to make two edits to the PS field to get it to save the change. It's a glitch in the 1.5.2 version of Precious Stones that doesn't get fixed till 1.6.2. So, when you want to add someone, do /ps allow ChiefCrazyCow
Then perform another command on the same stone, like: /ps allow notch
It will allow Notch into your field but he probably won't log in and find his way to your field :D
Some people add Plenary to their fields for good luck, lol.
