Title: Bug in the swear block
Post by: xChaosxRipperx on March 08, 2013, 06:55:16 PM
I have been trying to say a message to camel but it kept saying i swore. After 4 times of it saying that even after all my spell checks i have figured out that Class is a swear word and if you put "wasn't" next to "watching" it counts as a swear as i tried to tell camel that "I wasn't watching the time so he won the shop". Letting you guys know this so it can be looked into and fixed.

Er, wouldn't it be better to PM or message bugs in the swear filters? Even though this wasn't the case, sooner or later somebody might post thinking a certain word shouldn't be filtered and it might actually be a bad word.
(not trying to be a mini-admin or anything, this is just a suggestion.)

Yes you're more or less correct but I'm willing to take feedback either place. Besides, the forums will filter most of the bad words.

I've reverted the filter to the old version. The problems should subside for now.

Once you have no warnings left, you'll get a quick kick, but you can return :P

Instead of saying trickyidiot, just say tricky. As for umm, an someone replicate that? Had you spammed it with ummmmmmmm then the filter should have warned you.

Haven't been able to replicate "umm" and it's certainly not in the filter list.

well I believe anna added spam to the filter, so she went through a list adding 1111111, 222222, 444444 etc, so maybe they are doing something in that nature, a player complained about um the other day, and when I did /co l a:chat on players I noticed they tend to put excessive amounts of periods, for example one player did umm............ then complained that it blocked "umm"

Oh yes definitely. If the player types "ummmmmmm" it will get blocked. That's probably what pyfinnerty actually typed and just doesn't want to fess up :/

No I only did 3 or 2. 4 max. That might be it though >o<

You absolutely did 4 or more to trigger the filter. I see a dozen people every day in the logs saying "umm" and "ummm" and "hummm" with no trouble, but nobody gets away with "ummmm" because that is marked as spam and doesn't even make it to the log files.

No, I probably just forgot...  :(
I guess that must've been it.
