This part of the emergency maintenance requires all of our survival-related services to be offline, so at this point in time you will see the server as offline. We'll update this thread when the other servers are able to be played on again.

Famcraft Survival / Re: Moving items over distance
« on: September 26, 2017, 12:15:23 AM »
Minecarts will be paused when they're 112 or more blocks away from any players. That's seven chunks in distance, but this is not tied to chunk boarders, it's 112 regardless of the player's position in their chunk. Once any player moves within 112 blocks of a paused cart, it will resume as if it had never stopped.

If you wish to use minecart trains to move mass amounts of items, you would have to ride along with them if it's further than 112 blocks.

Minecarts will visually disappear after they get more than 64 blocks away from you, but they'll continue to move even when you can't see them.

We do not accept staff applications on our website either, but either way, thank you for going through our rules and understanding them, they're quite important.

You have been unbanned, we'll see you in-game.

General Discussion / Re: Minimap Mods

A common minimap mod that is updated to the most recent versions of the game that I see lots of players using is VoxelMap. It's a liteloader mod, so there's that.

Famcraft Survival / Re: LWC question
« on: September 11, 2017, 01:12:28 PM »
Hello Zerop, LWC is unfortunately not aware of who is in what clan, but PreciousStones is.

For cases where you want everyone in a clan to be able to access a chest, for instance, we tell people to make sure the chest is in a PreciousStones protection field and then either not lock the chest at all, or make it a "public" lock (with /cpublic and clicking the unlocked chest). If it's a publicly-locked chest, that would allow anyone who can access the PreciousStones field (by default: you and your clan members) but they would not be able to remove the chest. If it was not locked at all, allowed members would be able to interact with it as if it were not protected. Publicly-locked or unlocked though, all non-clan-members would not be allowed to interact with the chest at all.

General Discussion / 2017 North American Solar Eclipse - Information
« on: August 20, 2017, 02:26:54 PM »
On the 21st of August, 2017 (tomorrow or even today, depending on when you're reading this!), there will be a total solar eclipse that goes across the North American continent!

What is a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse happens when the moon lines up just right in the sky to cast a shadow on the ground during the day. This shadow only lasts a few minutes, and it is not very big, so getting to see one can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of us if we're lucky enough to see one!

What is this "totality" thing I keep hearing about?

The "totality" of the eclipse is what happens when you are completely in the moon's shadow. Not everyone will be able to see the totality, or a total solar eclipse. Most of the continent will experience a partial solar eclipse. It is not safe to look at the eclipse directly without the proper eye protection if the sun is not completely blocked by the moon. During totality, it will change from being bright daylight to almost completely dark within just a few seconds and you'll notice it get noticeably colder outside (and it might even get quieter too!). Totality only lasts a few minutes or less, depending on where you are in the moon's shadow.

Where can I see it?

A partial eclipse will be visible around morning and on into the early afternoon across a large portion of the North American continent. This includes the southern parts of Canada, the entire continental United States (that's all states except Alaska and Hawaii!), and northern parts of Mexico.

If you're in these specific states in the US, you may have a chance to experience a total solar eclipse (in order of when it will happen): Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina

If you aren't in those states mentioned above, but you're close to them, you still have a chance to experience a near-total solar eclipse where almost all the light will be blocked. Remember: It is not safe to look directly at the sun without proper eye protection if you are not completely covered by the moon's shadow!

Proper eye protection?

Proper eye protection means special glasses that filter out the sun's bright light. They are not normal sunglasses, and many of them will look sort of like those cardboard 3D glasses you've seen around. Proper solar glasses will be completely dark, letting almost no light through.
Proper eye protection, such as solar glasses, is important! This is because looking at the sun at any time without proper protection is very bad for your eyes and can cause you to go blind! (Seriously!)
Normal sunglasses do not offer enough protection to keep your eyes safe when looking directly at the sun.
This means it is important to remember not to try peeking out from behind the safety of your solar glasses to look at the sun directly if it is not completely covered by the moon, because even that is dangerous!

What if I don't live in an area that will experience this solar eclipse?

If you don't live in an area that will experience this solar eclipse, or if you're in an area that will only experience a partial one, NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, will be hosting a live streaming event of it as it takes place on their website.

If you would like to watch NASA's live coverage of the solar eclipse, you can do so here: https://www.nasa.gov/eclipselive
Their live stream will start up a little while before the eclipse starts to happen and will continue on through for the whole eclipse.

Just like the post title says, we've updated to 1.12.2!
Nothing fancy, just some bug fixes, but you'll need to update your Minecraft client to at least 1.12.1 in order to connect!

Hello there, Megatheriums. We've reviewed your behavior during your time on Famcraft and we've decided that this is not be the server for you. Your attitude and overall demeanor are not well-suited for the type of player base we maintain here at Famcraft.

Happy server hunting!

General Discussion / Re: No Glb
« on: August 01, 2017, 05:24:12 PM »
GLB is a type of 3d object file format, so yes, it would be a 3d image that could be rotated around and stuff. If you've got an up-to-date version of Windows 10 on your computer, you'll be able to save and open GLB files in Paint 3D. When saving a 3d image in Paint 3D, GLB is the first option listed when exporting the objects you make in it.

I've added that file format, as well as FBX and 3MF, as allowed file types to be attached to posts, since Paint 3D is standard in Windows 10!

Hello there, realracer's mom!
Thank you for taking the time to post a plea.

Your child was banned mostly as a precautionary measure, for their own safety. I was the one who did the ban, and it was immediately apparent to me that it was not the legitimate realracer on the account at the time. I suspected it was a sibling or real-life friend messing around, so I went ahead and banned the account before they did anything completely over the top.
I'll remove the ban, but do make sure they know that they are responsible for their own account, even if someone else uses their account to break the rules.

No. You were not banned for saying "a dot".
You were banned for numerous instances of breaking several rules, including evading the chat filter multiple times, arguing about the rules, re-joining on an alternate account after you were banned, and just over-all being unpleasant to deal with given the short amount of time you've been here.

Yeah I seen the IP ban after you attempted to log in, I removed that as well, sorry about that, I forgot that I added that in there as well.
