Title: Possible closure of the Voltz server
Post by: micahdg on July 06, 2013, 12:52:54 AM
It has been proposed that we shut down the Voltz server. The PVP and base blowing up has not been very popular with Famcraft players who are used to extensive protections. Most players don't like to work a lot just to have their stuff blown up in seconds. There are also lots of bugs in every version of the mod pack we tried. And because of those reasons, there is usually no one on the server, which keeps other people from wanting to log on to the server. Thanks for your vote/thoughts.

We should replace it with a skyblock or hunger games server :D

Hey I voted to shut it down too. It's not gonna hurt my feelings to see it go :)

Why not do a server that is UHC style and have a certain # of slots people can sign up for and then do a UHC event once a week or something with the people that signed up for that week. Winner from previous week gets an automatic slot in the next week.

I concur with Matt on the UHC idea as its been something I've asked about before.  Obviously I know both bk and micah have other projects on our servers that are currently up they need to see to first, but I do think that a UHC server has potential to be popular.

At the same time, it could be quite difficult to manage if you have to 'sign up' for the next event :S
