Hi All - I'm new to Minecraft on the Mac - my son plays mostly on the PS3 and Xbox and I thought I'd give him a chance to play on a real server. I've downloaded the software but cannot seem to log in to the Famcraft survival server.
I've created a profile with the 1.7.10 version (the same version listed in the multiplayer server lookup). Currently, it's showing 5 users in the game. I join the server and get an error message that reads as follows:
FAILED TO CONNECT TO SERVER
FAILED TO LOGIN: THE AUTHENTICATION ARE CURRENTLY DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE
Am I doing something wrong? Is the server really down for maintenance? When will it be up again?
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

We look forward to meeting you and your son in game. It sounds like you did everything just right.
Unfortunately, currently Mojang's authentication servers are down. That's where your account's username and password must pass through before accessing any public server. This is not an issue with Famcraft, but with Mojang's services. These little outages do not usually last too long. Hopefully you will be able to log in soon.

In the meantime feel free to hop on the webchat to meet some of the other staff and players, if you like. We can't get into the server right now either, but many of us are still chatting there.
