Thank God I'm Alive.
« Opened on February 19, 2013, 09:44:04 PM »
Well, normally as a lot of you know, every Tuesday and Thursday I travel 15-20 miles to the town next to my town for Taekwondo. This bustling city is filled with oil riggers and semi-trucks. Today, I took my family's Ford F-150 Shortbox crew cab since my car doesn't like to start in winter. Well, about 25 minutes ago when I was in the town, I pulled up to a green light and something didn't feel right, so I slowed up a bit before the green light. Thank God I did. A semi-truck blew through the red-light doing about 50MPH or faster (The speed limit is 25 on that road) right as I was about to turn right onto the road. If I would have been a few seconds fast, he would have T-boned me and I really doubt that I'd be here to type this...

Thank God for my spidey senses... Thought I'd share this.

Oh my GOSH Tyler! I am so glad you are okay! I know how rattled you must feel right now. Such a close call! :( This is so terrifying.  *Hugs*

Next time i decide to blow a red light, I'll have you in the car!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

As a truck driver myself, I want you to know that there are only a select few idiots out here (as in any group of people).  But on that same note, more times than not, traffic lights aren't timed for those of that weigh 70 to 80 thousand pounds and need a LOT more time to stop.

Glad to hear that your spidey senses were on top of things...

Oh no, this light had been red for him for a long while, as the crosswalk timer had just started (which it starts at 20), and he was going way faster then he should have.  It seems like the select few idiots have gathered here in the Bakken Oilfield, because this isn't the first time that a truck around here has nearly hit me. This was just the scariest one. I plan on getting my CDL as soon as I'm eligible to get one, though.
