Famcraft Rules for Survival, Forum, Mumble and IRC

Server Rules


Following the rules will make your experience on Famcraft more enjoyable!


1 - Griefing (defacing) another player's property or stealing another player's items is not allowed. We use extensive logging plugins on Famcraft. We record every action you perform, every item you touch, and every word you type ingame via chat, private message, clan chat, and sign text. We store all this information for many months. There is no statute of limitations on punishing players for griefing. You will never get away with it so don't bother trying. Instead, enjoy Famcraft knowing these plugins will also protect YOUR property from griefers!

2 - Deliberate misspelling of words to evade the swear filter is not allowed. If you type words that are caught by the filter, please use the warnings you receive as a lesson of what kind of words are not allowed on Famcraft.

3 - Abusive, racist, sexual, drug-related, belligerent, political, anti-political, religious, anti-religious, and inflammatory chat is not allowed in posts, text, skin, shapes of structures built ingame, text in signs, private messages, or nick/screen names. Remember, we log everything you type everywhere, always, and we keep logs forever. Famcraft is all about Minecraft, not your beliefs or lack of beliefs. These restrictions include a ban on any speech or actions that are commonly considered inappropriate when directed toward children. Among other reasons but mostly because we allow people of all ages to play on Famcraft, we have zero tolerance for any attempted exploitation of children.

4 - Trading, linking to, or discussing illegal material (games, software, movies, pornography, etc.) is not allowed.

5 - Do not discuss other servers while using any of Famcraft's services. That includes talking bad about other servers, too. While we appreciate players wanting to share their experiences from other servers, many new players join the server only to advertise their own server. Devious players we punish for breaking other rules often try to advertise other servers to draw people away from Famcraft out of spite. Due to these types of examples, we don't allow discussion of any other server while in-game, on mumble, or in our forums.

6 - Using any client modifications to cheat on Famcraft is not allowed. Cheating includes such activities as flying when not allowed, placing multiple blocks with one action, speed walking, and seeing through blocks. Two specific client mods which are allowed (and recommended) are Rei's Minimap and Optifine.

   - You may use many other client mods but we can't make a complete list of them. Acceptable client mods include most minimaps, inventory tweak/sorting, and others that do not give you a competitive advantage over other players. If you are unsure about whether a mod is safe to use here, just ask a staff member about it and they'll be glad to help.

7 - Harassment of other players is not allowed.

8 - Persistent hassling of Staff members for anything is not allowed. This includes world-editing, protections, or items, among other things.

9 - Spamming is not allowed. This includes using caps or excessive amounts of a letter or character. We will not argue this topic. ex: 111111111 - is considered spamming. More examples of spam: https://famcraft.com/index.php/topic,1841.0.html

10 - Do not ask to become a staff member. We choose staff members only after observing you for several months.

11 - English is the official language on Famcraft. We have players from all around the world and English is the most common language among them, so please use only English in the public chat and forum posts. You MAY use other languages in clan chat and personal messages. However, be advised that we make use of automated translations to ensure the non-English messages are in line with other Famcraft rules.

12 - Player vs. player combat is not allowed unless all participants agree to fight and agree on the terms of the combat. By default, your ability to hurt another player is disabled. This can be toggled with the /pvp  command. However, the other player must also issue the /pvp command. Some things you will need to make an agreement about include whether you will keep or return items a dead player drops and if you are allowed to grief each others' property/homes/clans. Issuing the agreement in chat or written on signs is sufficient. These rules exist to stop players from bullying each other.

Forum Rules

3 - Abusive, racist, sexual, drug-related, belligerent, political, anti-political, religious, anti-religious, and inflammatory chat is not allowed in posts, text, skin, avatar, signature, links in posts or signatures or images, or nick/screen names. Remember, we log everything you type everywhere, always, and we keep logs forever. Famcraft is all about Minecraft, not your beliefs or lack of beliefs. These restrictions include a ban on any speech or actions that are commonly considered inappropriate when directed toward children. Among other reasons but mostly because we allow people of all ages to play on Famcraft and post on Famcraft.com, we have zero tolerance for any attempted exploitation of children.

4 - Trading, linking to, or discussing illegal material (games, software, movies, pornography, etc.) is not allowed. This includes linking to sites, that link to other sites that include this sort of thing. If you post your YouTube channel or personal website/blog , for example, you need to make sure it does not link to other, inappropriate pages or sites.

5 - Do not discuss other servers while using any of Famcraft's services. That includes talking bad about other servers, too. While we appreciate players wanting to share their experiences from other servers, many new players join the server only to advertise their own server. Devious players we punish for breaking other rules often try to advertise other servers to draw people away from Famcraft out of spite. Due to these types of examples, we don't allow discussion of any other server while in-game, on mumble, or in our forums.

6 - No discussion of any client modifications that could be used to cheat on Famcraft. Cheating includes such activities as flying when not allowed, placing multiple blocks with one action, speed walking, and seeing through blocks. Two specific client mods which are allowed (and recommended) are Rei's Minimap and Optifine.

7 - Harassment of other players is not allowed. This means name-calling, being  degrading, aggressive, making rude or otherwise unnecessary/inappropriate comments on their posts, down-voting players to be insulting or hurtful (Adding dirt to their resources) , or sending rude/spammy forum mail messages.

8 - Persistent hassling of Staff members for anything is not allowed. This includes excessive/spammy forum mail or demands to review and reply to a plea.

9 - Spamming the forum is not allowed. This includes using caps or excessive amounts of a letter or character. This also includes posting random nonsense (except on game threads, where it is part of a game) and the excessive or unnecessary quoting of quotes. This also includes forum mail- do not spam other forum members with forum mail. It is okay to mail your friends, just do so politely and responsibly.  We will not argue this topic. ex: 111111111 - is considered spamming. More examples of spam: https://famcraft.com/index.php/topic,1841.0.html This including bringing up old posts. If there is an old post, do not bring it back up to post irrelevant, or unneeded comments, emotes, or additional comments that are not needed.

10 - Do not ask to become a staff member in game or on the forum. Server staff is also forum staff. We never ask forum members to help moderate famcraft.com

11 - English is the official language on Famcraft. We have players from all around the world and English is the most common language among them, so please use only English in the public chat and forum posts. You MAY use other languages in clan chat and personal messages or forum mail. However, be advised that we make use of automated translations to ensure the non-English messages are in line with other Famcraft rules.

12 - Player vs. player friendly debate is allowed on the forum. It is okay to express your views and differing opinions on family friendly topics such as sports or  appropriately rated games, movies and music. In these conversations, please always remember to use a polite and friendly tone, and never be degrading of another players opinions or experiences.


Additional notes:

You are responsible for your own forum account. If you use a shared forum account and your account sharer decides to grief or break rules, we will punish you and the account.

These rules can change at any time. Please make sure you check them frequently to keep up to date. Staff members are expected to have them memorized.

To prevent players circumventing punishments they have been given, we ask that players do not use multiple Minecraft accounts on Famcraft.com if they have access to them.  If you're found to be using multiple forum accounts, you'll be asked to pick your favorite and stick with it and we may ban the other account from the forum to avoid future confusion.

If a player breaks a forum rule. staff has authorization to ban them from the forum without warning the player first. If you want to plead your case and attempt to overturn any punishment against you, please do so by sending mail to admins@famcraft.com

Staff members follow the rules too, here at Famcraft.com. We take accusations of biased or abusive staff members very seriously. Our staff members are held to an even higher code of conduct than our members. If you are having a problem with a specific staff member, please send a forum private message to the owners of Famcraft, micahdg or bknysnake, and tell us about the situation. Mumble Rules

**NEVER Log into the Famcraft Mumble with ANY NAME intended to represent any other player, staff member, celebrity, entity, or anyone else at all, other than YOURSELF - We DO ban from the Mumble server, and from the survival server for breaking this rule**

1 - No trying to hijack conversations in Mumble.

  Degrading other players' conversations, or drastically changing the subject to intentionally steal focus from the original player's topic is not allowed. You are welcome to join in on the conversation, just don't try to run your own show. Remember, you are communicating with players who are still trying to actively play in game, too.
 Also, if a staff member is assisting another player in game, please do not demand that staff member focus their attention on you in mumble. While our players on mumble do matter very much to us, we must assist those players needing help in the game, first.
  Be wary of your behavior on Mumble, make sure you follow the rules. We pay attention. There is no statute of limitations on punishing players. Enjoy the Famcraft Mumble knowing these rules will help provide you with a safe and fun forum experience.

10 - Do not ask to become a staff member on Mumble. Speaking directly with us in voice chat does not make you any more likely to be asked to join the staff team, and is still breaking the rules. We also do not need players for Mumble staff. Server staff is also Mumble staff. We never ask players on Mumble  to help moderate the Mumble channel.

11 - English is the official language on Famcraft. We have players from all around the world and English is the most common language among them, so please use only English in public conversation on Mumble. You may use other languages in private conversations on Mumble.

12 - Player vs. player friendly playful debate is allowed on the Mumble. (Example: Melons vs Pumpkins, or what is the best block in Minecraft, What type of pizza is best) It is okay to express your views and differing opinions on family friendly topics such as sports or  appropriately rated games, movies and music. In these conversations, please always remember to use a polite and friendly tone, and never be degrading of another players opinions or experiences.


Additional notes:

You are responsible for your own Mumble account. If your account breaks the rules, we will punish you and the account. NEVER Log into Mumble using ANY other persons name. You must always be recognizable as the in game name we know you by.

These rules can change at any time. Please make sure you check them frequently to keep up to date. Staff members are expected to have them memorized.

To prevent players circumventing punishments they have been given, we ask that players do not use multiple Mumble accounts on the Famcraft Mumble, unless necessary to connect from different devices. Even then, your name should make it apparent who you are. If you're found to be using multiple Mumble names at once, you'll be asked to pick your favorite and stick with it to avoid future confusion.

If a player breaks any Mumble rule, staff has authorization to ban them from Mumble and the server without warning the player first. If you want to plead your case and attempt to overturn any punishment against you, please do so by posting a plea at: 12http://u.famcraft.com/1y
