Wish Granted. You have less homework. Unfortunately, this means that each assignment you do get is weighted more heavily on your grade. You happen to fail one assignment and are stuck at a lower grade than you would like for the rest of the semester/trimester/quarter/block/other.

I wish I understood matrices...
