We do cut and paste for free for donators.
The donator feedback thread is not dead or unresolved. We've already implemented the ability to donate for more homes, but we didn't announce it yet. BK and I discussed free torches and we decided against it for now. One of the things we feel makes famcraft unique is that even though you can essentially buy items by donating, you really only get tools. You still have to use those tools like everybody else to break blocks or collect things.
Tricky, you could make other arrangements to have lots of torches ready at hand. You could pay a player to keep a check full for you, or you could pre-fill them yourself, and set a home next to it. If we set up a command to give yourself free torches, it would be about the same amount of work as having a chest full of them somewhere.
