General Discussion / Re: Auction Site Malfunction
« on: March 17, 2014, 12:26:11 PM »
I'm not quite sure what the problem is that you're describing, but from what I could gather, Zorro had put "300000" in the bid amount box when the bid was only at "100003", someone else bid "109000" which erased Zorro's "300000" from the bid amount box and replaced it with "109001" instead, and he didn't notice the change and bid anyways, allowing the other bidder to bid one coin higher than that at the last second, thus winning the auction. Am I correct in assuming that is what happened?

If that is what happened, it should not happen again in the future, as I have just fixed this so it will only auto-increment the new bid amount if the latest bid by someone else is more than the amount that you entered for your next bid.

Sell your products/homes / Re: Famcraft Auction House
« on: March 14, 2014, 10:38:23 PM »
Just something I'd like to mention since I've seen players unsuccessfully try to sell things such as popular biomes (mesas, ice spikes, etc) or homes/buildings they've built on the auction house.

The auction house does support images in auction listings. This can be very helpful if someone is interested in buying the thing you are selling, but they are not sure exactly what it looks like, so they aren't willing to spend the money on it. Putting some screenshots of your building or area in your auction listing could help people, who are unsure if they want to bid for it, make the final decision and place that bid!

Some things to note: If you're selling a biome that you found or a nice area of land you stumbled upon, it may help if, in addition to taking some screenshots and posting them in the listing, you protected the area with PreciousStones or something to the effect to make it so that area was more provably yours to sell. It would also make it so that no other players could happen upon it while the auction was going on and just start building a house on it before the auction ended.

If you'd like to post an image, but don't know where to go, there's plenty of free-to-use image-hosting websites out there such as imageshack, photobucket, and others!

Plea to be unbanned / Re: Reasons Why I Was Banned
« on: March 11, 2014, 10:20:52 AM »
Hi again staff and others.
I am here to put what happened and why. First off I did another plea because my first 1 is locked. So here is what happened: 1 day I was on the sofa watching tv when my mom's friend (aka 99's mom) called and told us Crazy was banned from Famcraft. When I heard this I got really mad. I had a delay and then I raced on to Famcraft and saw Crazy was banned. I got into the Skype call with 99 and the others to calm them down and be happy it was only 3 days. But then 99 decided to record and put it on YT. I did say in chat I was recording but lieing. If anything I was trying to not be the enemy with anyone. So pretty much I don't deserve to be banned. Have a great day and thx for understanding. Cya!!

If anything I was trying to not be the enemy with anyone. So pretty much I don't deserve to be banned.

Here's a quote from you on the video that got you all banned:

Quote
He's gonna be getting unbanned in three days, but let's screw with these admins.
Let's all get on, if you guys don't really care about this server, just get on this server and keep chanting, spamming "unban Crazydino, unban Crazydino, unban Crazydino".
If you guys just trust me, it will work [other people cut in right here saying "we will all get banned"] he will get unbanned.

And here's another, from that same video, in case you forgot what you said:

Quote
Oh and if you see Thoatt, screw with him more than anybody else.
Ruben, you can leave her alone, but like, Thoatt, he's the one that banned him.
Screw with him; Kill the mother crapper.
Go and screw [loud noises here from another person's microphone] his day up.

The point of a plea, and the reason why we're giving you all a chance to plea, is because before this incident, you were all pretty ok players. None of you did something extremely seriously bad, and were well-behaved for the most part, until your friend was given a simple three day temporary ban. We really don't like issuing bans, especially permanent ones, so unless it was an absolutely unspeakable crime, we still allow people who are permanently banned to plea for a chance to come back.

However, one of the things we look for when a permanently banned player is pleaing, especially, is whether they understand the reason behind their ban or not, and whether we feel they are sincere in their apology.

Right now, it seems that you don't quite understand why you were banned, so I'll lay it down here now. The reason you were banned was because of that video that you participated heavily in, and that 9989812 uploaded to the public afterwards. Your part in this video was very serious, you put out a call-to-arms for people who don't like Famcraft to join the server and start spamming, and to kill one of the admins here just because you didn't like that your friend was temporarily banned for three days, among other things. This is not ok. It is fine to dislike Famcraft, that is what "free speech" actually means, you were not banned for that. It is not fine when you take that dislike and use it to get others to break our rules in your (or someone else's) name on Famcraft, to get back at us for temporarily banning a friend of yours.

It is still possible for you and your friends to get unbanned, but not before we see that you understand that what you did was wrong, and not nice.

Plea to be unbanned / Re: Temp ban.
« on: March 10, 2014, 11:17:50 AM »
You've got a two-day temp-ban for minor griefing at a public farm/resource area. The area warned (by sign) that the owner would consider it griefing and report it if players who took resource did not re-plant after they were done, and you removed several trees there without replanting any of them.

You've been warned about this in the past, which is why it was a short temp-ban now  :(

Plea to be unbanned / Re: sorry plea
« on: March 08, 2014, 11:47:23 AM »
Thank you for taking the time to plea, your plea will be reviewed and we'll get back to you when a decision is made.

The reason for your ban is because we'd found quite a lot of griefing that was done by your account, in the same area and same time as kayleepurple's griefing... Which means that you two were griefing all those buildings together.  :(

Sell your products/homes / Famcraft Auction House
« on: March 06, 2014, 12:55:51 AM »
The Famcraft auction house is a place similar to eBay, where players on Famcraft can list items they want to sell and other players can bid on those items. Holding auctions for things has never been easier on Famcraft! It's as simple as filling out your in-game username, the price you wish the bidding to start at, the amount of hours the auction should go on for, a title for your listing so others know what it is on the main page, and finally, a description of the item that you're selling. If you're selling something that can be described better by pictures instead of words, you can add pictures too! See below to read how.

http://auctions.famcraft.com

Rules and usage guidelines:
Failure to follow these could result in you getting banned from the auction house! Please read them!

The rules for posting things in the auction house are the same as the Main Rules.

Extra rules specific to the auction house:
Items should only be sold in in-game Famcoins, not real money!
When posting or bidding, please use your in-game name. Actual usernames are preferred over nicknames, but nicknames will work too.
Please do not "bump" your own posts by bidding on them. Doing this is a good way to get yourself banned from the auction house!
Please do not post or bid as someone else.

If you post an item:
Please make sure that your starting bid is something you feel comfortable selling the item at. Your item might only get a single bid!
You will be expected to have that item ready to be given to the winning bidder.
If something happens to the item before the bidding has ended (accidentally fell in lava/creepers found it/dog ate it/etc), please let staff know so the item's post can be removed!
If the winning bidder does not wish to pay you for the item they bought, please let staff know.
It is ok to post links to your item's bid page to advertise that you're selling it, but please be mindful of the no-spam rule!

If you bid on an item:
You will be expected to pay the seller the amount you bid if you are the winning bidder.
If something happens and you do not have the money before the bidding is done, please let staff know so we can remove your bid!
If you win the bidding and the seller does not wish to give you the item you bought, please let staff know.

Useful information:
Bidding will automatically be locked on an item once the item's auction length has ended, so you won't have to worry about seeing if someone placed a bid after the auction expired.
New items and new bids will appear automatically, no refreshing needed.
You can post images in the item's description area by using the same tag you would for forums, the [img] tag. Multiple images in a description are supported. Choose your favorite place to upload the image at, then just put the link to that image inside the tag like such:
Code: [Select]

Finally: If you have any questions, comments, or other feedback, please post it here.

General Discussion / Re: Warning Windows XP Users!
« on: March 05, 2014, 09:18:07 PM »
News flash kids! Don't listen to everything the news says! :P

Yep, a lot of news outlets will try to go for the stories that get the most page views, and if that means twisting some details (or just being flat-out wrong), they'll go for it.

General Discussion / Re: How to download shaders?
« on: March 05, 2014, 04:18:13 PM »
A computer will never throw a bluescreen under normal operation, even when running at 100%. If you are getting any bluecsreen errors for any reason, it means there's either an unrecoverable error in the core of Windows (kernel/drivers) or you have failing hardware somewhere.

Given that this only happens when you try to load up Minecraft with the shaders mod, the most likely culprit would be your video driver crashing from some weird graphics call the mod is trying to do and taking everything else down with it.

The first thing I would try to do would be to get the latest graphics driver for your version of Windows for the Radeon HD 4000 series cards.
If you could tell me your version of Windows, I could give you a link to the correct drivers from AMD's website.

Also, your CPU in your computer was released in mid 2009, so your computer is from at least then.

As RubensCherub said, we value honesty a great deal here at Famcraft, and telling the truth goes a very long way!

If you were honest with us in the first place, chances are we would have just asked you to uninstall the mod since you hadn't been a problem before that.

But, that's all in the past now; Welcome back to the server  ;D

Thank you for taking the time to plea! Your plea seems sincere and we believe you have learned your lesson, so: Welcome back to the server! You have been unbanned, just remember to go over the rules at /spawn when you return just to make sure you understand them. The rules are in-place to protect all the players on the server, so they are important to follow.

We hope to see you back on the server soon!  ;D

You have griefed other players in some way, shape, or form on multiple occasions. It is also in the rules when you join the server that you are responsible for your own account.

However, thank you for taking the time to plea, it will be reviewed and we'll get back to you with the result as soon as we can.
